I was visiting relatives in Germany this summer and spent one wonderful hot and sunny day wandering round Frankfurt, a city I’ve been visiting since I was young.
I’d been so starved of travel that I felt as if I was looking at the city with fresh eyes. I soaked up every detail and it stirred up many old memories. In true Frankfurt form, the day ended with a dramatic thunderstorm and downpour and I was drenched right down to my underwear!
I really enjoyed writing about my Frankfurt experiences past and present for The Herald (especially as it’s a city that often gets a bad press). If you want to find out more about my favourite places to go, my top German food and why I’m often wearing German clothes (!) the article is here.
Ich bin ein Frankfurter, oh yes!
